Sian Prior

Dr Sian Prior is a writer, broadcaster and teacher of non fiction writing. She has worked as a journalist for 25 years and taught writing at RMIT for over a decade. She also runs community writing workshops and mentors individual writers. Sian has a PhD in Creative Writing and her critically-acclaimed memoir Shy (Text Publishing) was published in 2014. sianprior.com

Rachel Matthews

Rachel Matthews

Course(s): Writing Creative Fiction - Getting Started Weekend

Rachel Matthews is a Melbourne author, lecturer and teacher. Recently, she completed a PhD in creative writing. Her critically acclaimed debut novel Vinyl Inside received strong press reviews and was highly commended by the Australian Vogel Award judges. She has over 15 years’ experience as an educator within a diverse range of learning environments, including lecturing in RMIT's Associate Degree in Professional Writing and Editing. Matthews is also an experienced presenter with the Victorian Association for Teachers of English.

Judith Rossell

Course(s): Writing for Children

With a background in science, and a number of years working for CSIRO and within the textile industry, Judith has been a full time writer and illustrator of children’s books for the past twelve years. She has written ten books and illustrated more than sixty. Her work has been published in the US, the UK and has been translated into more than ten languages.

Brett Stanning

Course(s): Comedy Writing

Brett Stanning is a screenwriter/director who has made short films including an AFC-funded Play in 2007 and has written, directed, produced, script edited and marketed many others. He is currently developing his own spec features, recently co-created a comedy series with Tim Ferguson and is in post-production on a short film he just wrote and directed, One More Sleep. Brett also assesses screenplays for the Australian Writers Guild.
