Undertake an introductory course in the use of acrylic and oil paints as a fine art medium. You will complete a series of projects through which you will learn to prepare paints, mix colours, develop a range of mark making techniques, prepare painting surfaces and create resolved paintings.

Expand your understanding of the space inhabited by art, artists and audiences through this ten week workshop class in which you will complete art projects outside of the gallery context. These include street art, social interventions and correspondence art.

Develop familiarity with foundational techniques and concepts in the medium of printmaking through two in-depth projects. You will become proficient in relief printing with linoleum, and then develop an understanding and competency in intaglio printing through the creation of a drypoint etching
Unit of Competency: CUAPRI401
In this course you will be introduced to the use of high end digital cameras to compose and capture images as material to be used in a fine art context. You will learn to consider this imagery conceptually as well technically in order to manipulate and prepare for digital display.
