A single course is an individual subject that is taught in one of RMIT’s undergraduate and postgraduate programs. During the semester, you’ll study in classrooms alongside RMIT students, which gives you the chance to join RMIT's network and connect with like-minded students and scholars.

3. Download and complete the Single course enrolment and statistical data form
4. Check if you are eligible for a discount, RMIT staff receive 25% and alumni receive 15% off the fee. If you think you qualify please indicate this on the statistical data form or contact us to confirm.
5. Collate and scan the required documents for your application
6. Navigate to the course page of your chosen subject. Select the 'Apply Now' and register an account. Existing users can log in with their client number.
7. Read the agree to single course terms and conditions. Find them on the FAQ page.
8. Upload your documentation and where required submit a statement of intention.
9. Submit your application
You will be contacted by the Single and Short course team to discuss your approval status and the next step in your application process. This can take up to 72 hours. If your application is successful, full payment will be required to finalise your enrolment.
An RMIT short course offers you the opportunity to quickly enhance your professional skills, increase general knowledge in a chosen area or simply nurture a new talent or hobby. Short courses run throughout the year. On completion, participants are awarded an RMIT Statement of Participation.
An RMIT single course is a subject from an undergraduate or postgraduate degree program. A single course gives you an opportunity to experience the subject matter before committing to a degree. Single courses are offered during RMIT University's Semester 1, Semester 2, Spring and Summer semesters. Enrolments are accepted only during official enrolment periods. Participants are issued with an RMIT University Result Statement on successful completion.
To be eligible for admission to an RMIT single course you must meet the minimum age requirements and have a visa valid for the duration of the course. RMIT single courses are subjects open to anyone, however some single courses may have pre-requisites while other single courses require no previous knowledge on the subject. Check the individual single course pages for further details to see if the course is appropriate for your needs.
RMIT International students are not eligible to enrol in single courses. Please verify your enrolment process with your RMIT University School.
International applicants must have a visa valid for the duration of the single course. Enrolling in a single course will not make you eligible for a student visa.

Government funding is not available for any of our courses. All course fees must be paid up front and in full prior to course commencement.

Please contact us to determine if you are eligible for a discount. Discounts may not apply to all single courses. Proof must be provided at the time of enrolment for a discount to be applied. Discount refunds will not be provided after online enrolment is processed.
Students who successfully complete a single course may apply for credit towards an award program. Before applying for a single course, you should check how many credit points apply. On completion of a single course, RMIT University will issue a Result Statement confirming your achievement. Your Result Statement can be used to obtain exemptions, however, this is not an automatic process and conditions may apply. Accreditation or exemptions towards an award program are not automatic and students are advised to check with the relevant RMIT University School or home institution. Single course students will not gain automatic entry into an award program or gain a degree through only completing single courses.

Single courses can range anywhere between $1,000 to $7,680 with the majority costing approximately $3,500. This fee is a full-fee, upfront payment which is not eligible for HECS or Fee-HELP. Check the individual course pages for exact prices.
