An OPG is a panoramic or wide view x-ray of the lower face, which displays all the teeth of the upper and lower jaw on a single film. It demonstrates the number, position and growth of all the teeth including those that have not yet surfaced or erupted.
The course course covers theory and practical learning activities is delivered by teachers who are subject matter specialists and qualified radiographers.
The program includes the:
• Introduction into Panoramic imaging
• Dental Anatomy and Panoramic imaging
• Image quality
• Digital vs Analog imaging
• Image formation
• Radiation safety
• Common faults
• Exposure parameters
• Patient management
• Practical sessions using equipment.
Dental Assistants, Dental hygienists, Oral health therapists and Dental therapists who hold a Certificate IV in Dental Assisting (Radiography), a current Intra Oral Licence and registered with AHPRA.
Participants are advised to bring their own lunch or purchase from the local cafes.
