Adobe Photoshop - Level 1

Overview

In this course you will be introduced to the fundamental functions and tools of Photoshop. The Photoshop package is the standard image manipulation tool for electronic publishers, artists, teachers, designers and photographers.

  • Layer masks, the designer staple to manipulate images
  • Transform techniques
  • Layers - adjustment layers, merging layers, Viewing and understanding layer orders
  • File management using groups
  • Photographic touching, cloning, healing and reducing noise
  • Enhancing images by adjusting levels, applying layer masks and blending modes to further improve quality of images
  • Using filters to create affects to images
  • Varied ways to approach text and affects applied to text
  • How images work on the web, upload files to a temporary website you create

Ideal for

The extensive short course is the perfect introduction to the software for a first time user, or an opportunity for an update of skills as it aims to go beyond the basics. The course facilitator customises the course content to the user. You are encouraged to bring in current projects to ensure the outcome of the course directly relates to your needs.
This course is suitable for people interested in image capture, preparation for printing or those with a general interest in learning the software.

Outcome

Participants will have acquired sound knowledge of principles, function and tools of Photoshop software for a printing environment.

Pre-requisites

No previous graphic experience needed but a familiarity with basic computer interface is desirable. Classes are delivered in a Macintosh environment. Experienced PC users will find the transition easy
