Decorative Pattern Design with Adobe software

Overview

This is a practical introduction to creating decorative patterns with Adobe software. Students will learn how to create motifs with Illustrator and how to create a range of different repeating patterns with Illustrator and Photoshop. The course will also cover the creation of animated patterns and how these patterns can be used in more traditional design areas such as textiles, rugs, wallpapers, homewares and wrapping paper. They can also be used in for marketing purposes and with social media, blogs and websites.

Outcome

On completion, participants should have developed a good understanding of how to use use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to create decorative patterns. 

Pre-requisites

Basic computer skills are essential.
A basic working knowledge of Photoshop and/or Illustrator is beneficial but not essential
