Additional notes

Associate Prof. Shane Hulbert

An educator with over 20 years of experience, Associate Professor Hulbert specialises in exploring the relationship between photography, culture and technology. His teaching is predicated on the notion that photography is a technologically determined medium, with a unique language that is critical to the understanding and experience of photography as an arts practice.

Prof. Hulbert’s creative practice explores the significance of our ongoing relationship with the land and ways this informs aspects of the Australian national identity. An exploration into the formation of our cultural psyche, his work analyses the Aussie adventurer determination to discover and lay claim to sites, locations and territories. He has exhibited nationally and internationally, including London, China and South Korea.
