Intro to Fine Art Digital Photography:Produce innovative digital images CUADIG405


In this course you will be introduced to the use of high end digital cameras to compose and capture images as material to be used in a fine art context. You will learn to consider this imagery conceptually as well technically in order to manipulate and prepare for digital display.

Course content

Participants will learn how to use high end digital cameras to control and manipulate light entering them in order to create imagery for use in a fine art context. Through a series of exercises and two longer art projects you will learn to transfer the captured material to a computer, and then manipulate for conceptual and aesthetic purposes. Development of concepts through the work will be discussed between the teacher and participant throughout the ten classes.

School leavers, mature aged participants, current RMIT students.

Students will receive a transcript with a grade in the nationally recognised unit of competency.



Materials supplied

All relevant course materials are included, including the use of RMIT cameras and MacIntosh computers with relevant software.

Materials to bring

Pen/pencil and notebook, USB storage.


Participants will be awarded an RMIT Statement of Participation and a transcript.
