Intro to Public Art Practice: Participate in collaborative creative projects CUAPPR304

Expand your understanding of the space inhabited by art, artists and audiences through this ten week workshop class in which you will complete art projects outside of the gallery context. These include street art, social interventions and correspondence art.

Course content

Undertake two art projects in order to expand your understanding of the nature of the space that art and audience can occupy. You will learn to work collaboratively as well as individually. You will develop physical work that will take into consideration the site of display in its creation, as well as more ephemeral work where roles inhabited by artist and audience change. Issues involving health and safety as well as ethics for artists, audiences and others possibly affected by works will be explored.
