Do you need to refresh or improve your grammar? Would you like to use punctuation marks with confidence?
This two-day intensive course revises the eight parts of speech, the structure of sentences and the standard punctuation marks. You will identify and fix common problems in writing, and learn techniques that will help you avoid these problems in the future. Topics covered include when to capitalise, when to use 'which' or 'that' and the differences between the colon and semi-colon.
This course is designed for people who need to write polished documents in the workplace. Rather than just a refresher of grammar skills as learned (or not) in school, this course explores the use of grammar and punctuation and its current practical application within Australian business and culture. It is particularly useful for writers and editors who need to be sure of the rules before deciding to bend, break or keep them.
Please note that completion of this course will not guarantee entry into an RMIT Program.
On completing this course you will be able to write in concise English, using correct grammar and punctuation.
