In this course you will build on skills introduced in Website Design 1 - The Full Overview, learning how to code and integrate HTML5, CSS3 and jQuery. You will learn how to use frameworks, a collection of building blocks for page layout, design and interactivity. Discover how to build a sophisticated website with minimal coding and under expert guidance.
Graphic designers who want to migrate their skills online, web designers who want to take their skills further, enthusiasts who find the web fascinating and want to really learn about how it works, marketing people who need to create stunning landing pages, and anyone who wants to design and build their own modern website and impress their customers, family, friends and colleagues.
Students who have completed Website Design 1 - The Full Overview will be eligible for a 10% discount on course fees for Website Design 2 - Responsive Design.
Understanding how all of this stuff works can be a challenge. This course will not only introduce you to cutting-edge web design techniques, but will give you the confidence to use them to design and create your own website. By the end of the course you will have learnt how to code and integrate HTML5, CSS3 and jQuery and have a deeper understanding of how modern websites work. Most importantly, during the course you will have the opportunity to begin building your own site with expert guidance.
Basic HTML and CSS coding skills are required, as introduced in Website Design 1. You should be able to edit code with some confidence and have a working knowledge of website structure and navigation.
All relevant course materials are supplied, including PDF and project files.
Bring a USB stick, so you can take away working project files with you each week. If you like to take notes, bring paper and pen!
Participants will be awarded an RMIT Statement of Participation.
