Web design is a constantly changing industry - it's important to stay up to date with current methods and techniques.
In this course you will build on the skills introduced in the Website Design 1 course. You’ll go into the code in depth, and gain the skills and techniques needed to design and develop web pages from scratch. You will learn how to use tools to streamline the development process, and master cutting-edge responsive page layout techniques including Flexbox and CSS Grid.
This course is aimed at people who already have some experience with writing HTML and CSS, as taught in the ‘Website Design 1 - The Full Overview’ course. If you are unsure about your current skill level, let us know, we can put you in touch with the course facilitator, who will be able to advise on which course is best for you. If your coding skills are rusty, you may benefit from the 1 day Coding Refresher course.
Students who have completed Website Design 1 - The Full Overview will be eligible for a 10% discount on course fees for Website Design 2 - Beyond the Basics.

As you go through the course, you will build a library of modules and templates that you can use to build your own web design projects.
Basic HTML and CSS coding skills are required, as introduced in Website Design 1. You should be able to edit code with some confidence and have a working knowledge of website structure and navigation.
All relevant course materials are supplied, including PDF and project files.
Bring a USB stick, so you can take away working project files with you each week. If you like to take notes, bring paper and pen!
Participants will be awarded an RMIT Statement of Participation.
Refreshments will not be provided - please bring as required.
