Working hands-on, you will learn how to rapidly conceptualise and plan your project; equipment; filming; basic editing; and upload. There is a focus on simplicity and timesaving, as well as how to get the most out of at-hand equipment including iPhones and free software. This is an action-packed 2 day course that will show you how just how much you can learn and achieve in ‘lean’ video production!

• Preliminary digital editing demo using Adobe Premiere
• Quick tricks and workarounds for editing — boosting sound, finding free music and sound effects, credits.
• Uploading formats and publishing to social media platforms including Facebook, YouTube & Vimeo.
This course is recommended for anyone who wants to learn how to create short videos intended for web and mobile (on a small budget and timeframe), for any purpose including for education, entertainment or promotion of a business, product or service.

At the end of this course you will have learnt techniques to produce a creative and professional yet simple short video that can engage audiences online. This course is about getting excellent results in a minimum amount of time.
Must be computer literate and be familiar with the MAC OS.
All relevant course materials are included.
Participants will be awarded an RMIT Statement of Participation.

Jason is an RMIT alumni who currently works at a small Melbourne based production company, SIRAP. He has experience shooting, editing and producing content for brands like the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Lexus and Dulux with a focus on creating content for social media as well as TVCs.
Enjoyed the structure of the course - lots of good examples, the test video exercise Avocado was fun. I felt is was well-paced and built up to our final project well. Good for beginners.
