Lightroom for Beginners (Classic CC)

Overview

Over three dedicated sessions, students will explore the Library and Develop modules of Adobe Lightroom (Classic CC). Students will create an efficient workflow and an organised system for managing digital files. Students will learn the essentials of editing, processing and exporting digital photos.

Deb explains everything you need to know to get up and running with Lightroom, in a step by step, easy to understand way. You’ll be amazed at what this program can do and how much easier it makes organising and processing your digital files.

Course content

Library Module:

Importing, Exporting, Metadata, Understanding the Catalog, Keywords, Ratings, Collections and more.

Develop Module:

Global and Local adjustment options, Presets, HDR merging, Processing Tips, Smart Previews and more.

Ideal for

Anyone who wants to learn more about Adobe Lightoom image organisation and manipulation software to view, organise and edit large numbers of digital images.

Please note, this course teaches Lightroom CLASSIC CC not Lightroom CC.

Students will learn how to make the most of Adobe Lightroom. They will explore how to organise files, process images and develop a workflow.

All relevant course materials are included.

Materials to bring

It is preferable for students to bring their own Laptop with Lightroom Classic (or Lightroom version 6) installed, and an external hard drive or USB stick. Pen/pencil and notebook also recommended. Mac Computers will be available if needed.

Award

Participants will be awarded an RMIT Certificate of Completion.

Deborah Dorman
Deborah Dorman is a qualified professional photographer with a Cert IV in Training and Assessment. She loves sharing the joy of photography with others and has a skill for explaining the complex in easy to understand ways.
Deborah established Wild Honey Photography, a successful portrait, wedding and event photography business, in Qld in 1998. She moved to Melbourne in 2010 and commenced teaching photography at RMIT.
You'll find Deborah teaching the Introduction to Photography Level 1 and 2 as well as the People and Portrait short courses.
Deborah also runs Photography Travel Tours and regularly exhibits her fine art photography, with images in both public and private collections.
