Bag Making 1: Clutch Bag

Overview

This course will teach you to design and create a clutch bag in leather, as well as the introductory knowledge associated with bag making. Learn under the expert guidance of our tutor in our fully equipped leather working studio.

Course content

Designing and pattern making
Cutting leather/material by hand
Leather skiving
Leather folding (beading)
Leather and material sewing
Attaching standard fittings (buckles, press studs, magnetic locks, etc.)

This course is ideal for those who are interested in the craft of designing and making bags by hand.

Outcome

Students will learn the art of bag making from introductory level, and finish a clutch bag.

All leather and course materials are supplied. Tools will be available for use within the department.
