Industry partners:Level up your skills and qualifications as a digital native
Teaming up with the best in industry, our Future Skills courses lean into the future of work to deliver the best in structured, mentor-supported, 100% online education.
In an age where people's attention spans are finite and user expectations run high, digital products and services can no longer thrive without consideration of their intended audience. UX is a mindset and human-centered process that focuses on "designing the right thing" by exploring people's needs, defining problems, and delivering iterative improvements to ensure exceptional experiences with a digital product or service. In 2020, Forrestser research noted that good UI can raise your website's conversion by 200%, while better UX design can increase conversions by up to 400%.
Throughout this course, you will develop hands-on UX skills and knowledge in real world contexts, gain experience with industry-recognised best practice tools like Figma, and learn the end-to-end UX process. This course has been built with leading industry partners Symplicit, so you can feel confident that what you’re studying is best practice and aligned with the desired skillset in the industry.
Our User Experience Design course is ideal for:
- Designers and business professionals who work in roles that intersect with UX Design such as individuals in product, strategy, service, and consulting who are looking to upskill in human-centred design.
- Junior-mid business professionals from related fields looking to expand their skillset and move into a role in UX design.
- An entrepreneur with a start-up or side hustle looking to gain valuable skills in UX Design and create quality experiences between their products and customers.
Throughout this course, you will:
- Apply the principles of user experience design to improve the experience for an existing digital product including gathering and incorporating information and insights from users
- Create, prioritise and iterate on designs to produce a clickable prototype
- Present the research and justify the design process undertaken to produce the final prototype.
This course will provide you with an end-to-end understanding of UX design including customer personas, journey mapping, research, prototyping, and concept ideation.
At the end of this course, you will complete a UX design project to showcase your skills to potential or current employers.
This course can be taken as standalone but has been designed to be taken as part of a two-course UX + UI Design bundle (with a saving of 10% across both courses). For a more comprehensive understanding of business analytics, we recommend that you also complete User Interface Design.
Course Overview
Learn more about our User Experience Design course in the video below.
User experience design now is one of the most important things you can do as an organization. It's paramount that we do user testing and you include user experience whenever we're designing a new product, a new service - delivers much better return on investment for our businesses and for our users and customers.
Spending millions of dollars building products when you don't even know if they're necessary is a huge risk to the organization. There's going to be an exponential change and how people interact with digital products and services given how young people are interacting. Our definition of what easy to use means keeps building and with new technology if we have this new context of the way people are going to be interacting. People are going to be thinking about that carbon footprint, people are going to be thinking about their impact. UX is going to have to start bringing that into the way that we think about things. UX designers will be embedded in every single company and organization. It'll be relevant for quite a few years into the future so I think it's a great career choice
